Our newly-made rod stock is made from 100% natural rubber.  It machines easily, takes a mirror-like polish, yet is tough and resilient.  It has a great feeling of weight and solidity; indeed, it is considerably heavier than most of the modern hard rubbers currently on the market - over twice the density, in many cases.  The mottled patterning is done the way it was done 100 years ago, but in a much broader range of colors.

Rods are 3/4" (19 mm ) in diameter - tending to run oversize - and are sold in lengths of 1/4 meter (9 3/4").  If a full meter-long (39 3/8") rod is needed, place your order for four 1/4-meter lengths, and leave us a note when checking out in the Notes/Comments box, stating that you want a single uncut rod (1/2-meter lengths can be ordered in the same fashion).  Rods cut to 1/2 meter or shorter may offer substantial savings on international shipping, allowing the material to be sent by airmail rather than Priority Mail.  Lengths may vary slightly; rods come with a dull outer skin that must be removed to reveal the full color underneath.  Note that patterning varies from rod to rod, and can change dramatically depending how far a rod is turned down.
